REMINDER - QUIZ MONDAY

Reminder that you have a quiz on Monday on Chp 3 - Projectile motion.

Review the chapter, review your homework and look at the resources in the two posts below.

You will be able to use the equation sheet I gave you on the quiz You can ask questions on Monday before the quiz also.

Email me over the weekend if you have any questions.

Great site with review videos on lots of topics.

The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit with the mission of providing a world-class education to anyone, anywhere.

They have tons of videos with lectures on reviews of different topics, including math, science, and more.

Check it out and definitely check out the section on Physics.

Friday, September 17th

Today we will be doing the 1st hands-on projectile motion lab. If you finish the lab with time left in class, proceed to this site, http://physicsquest.homestead.com/quest3n.html, and follow the directions for completing the activity.

Monday, Sept 13th 2010

Today we will go over the Chapter 3 homework and you will have some more problems for practice for homework tonight (Chapter 3, Problems # 1, 7, 15 ).

After we go over the homework, we will do the following work on the computers. This work will help you understand 2 Dimensional Motion and vectors.

Kinematics - 2D
Projectile Motion Applets 1-5
Shoot the Monkey

Kinematics, Projectile Motion

If you finish these two activities and still have time left you should go to this site, http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Class/vectors/ , and go through the section on Vectors and 2D Kinematics.  (If you don't have time in class, you should go over this at home).

Some students have emailed me with questions on assignments or topics, please continue to do so. I don't want anyone to be frustrated about an assignment.

Reminder

Reminder to all students that due to the high heat, Thursday will be an early dismissal.

Also, Hurricane Earl may have an affect on us this week/weekend.

You should be prepared for emergencies - for more information, go to the following websites:

1st Day

Today we went through Chapter 1 in your book. It was an intro to physics and really quick review of units, measurement, laws, and theories.

Homework: Chapter 1, Problems # 3, 4, 13, 19, 21 due Friday.

On Friday, I will check everyone's homework and then we will go over it.

Another tip/resource:
AP Physics Question of the day - you can subscribe to this site and you will get an email with a problem from AP Physics. Try it out and then go to the site to see the solution. This is great for review and practice for the AP exam. http://www.learnapphysics.com/index.html
